The delivery of The Nicholson Quarter has taken another major step forward with the submission of an updated planning application.

The existing planning consent was supported by 82% of the public and the updated application reflects all the key principles of that Vision.

The updates follow RBWM and community feedback and principally address:

• A reduction in maximum building height,
• The latest national fire safety and building regulations,
• Market demand with new homes replacing one of the three office buildings.

Start on site is due in Q1 2026.

A new heart for Maidenhead

From Shopping Centre to town centre, Nicholson Quarter will create a fantastic new urban quarter for Maidenhead, delivering new homes, workspace, shops and restaurants. Sir Nicholas Winton Square, named by residents in honour of Sir Nicholas, is the focal point for a central public space.

One of the UK’s first shopping centre to town centre conversions that could

become a blueprint for the regeneration of town centres
